Braila Project – 5 September

Help a child go to school is a Rotary Bucuresti project which began 9 years ago. The first edition, held in Tulcea in cooperation with the local Rotary club, provided IT equipment for 13 schools in the region of the Danube Delta.

The initiative was made possible with the support of several Rotary clubs in District 2241, as well as the Rotary Club of Zell am See.

Over the following years, the project came to focus on a single school, aiding more children by providing school supplies, schoolbags, clothing and footwear, among other things, for underprivileged children and their families.

For this 9th edition, we partnered with our Rotarian friends from the Rotary Club of Braila and all throughout the country to support the school in Unirea, in Braila county. The donation took place on Saturday, 5 September 2020.
72 children received school supplies, schoolbags, footwear and sportswear.

Additionally, the members of the community received 10 bikes, 10 computers, 10 TV sets and furniture sets, mattresses, clothing and footwear.

Our mission accomplished, we have decided to hold the 10th anniversary edition in Alexandria, where the local Rotary club will be our host in 2021 .
